As a founder member of ITSO and major provider of ITSO smartcard
personalisation systems and services to the UK transport ticketing market, Burall
InfoSmart are pleased to announce their ITSO PersoPOST has been certified to the
very latest version of the ITSO specification, version 2.1.4.
The certification includes the new versions of IPE TYP2 (Stored
Travel Rights), TYP 22 (Area based ticket), TYP 23 (Journey Ticket) and TYP 24
(Travel Voucher). The IPE TYPE 24 is the new format revision 2, as specified by
the railway industry, which is significantly different to the older versions and
NOT backwards compatible. This means that those companies who are only certified
to v2.1.3 or earlier cannot produce cards which will work with the current IPE TYP 24.
Version 2.1.4 is the latest incarnation of the ITSO specification
and, after seeing regular updates over the last few years, the specification is now
being held stable with the next update not due until June 2013.
